    Hi

I'm looking to build a train display as I have two train Hornby Train Sets a few years ago. I was bought a Skaledale Building and Recently bought a Wills kits from a model shop in the UK. I think the Skaledale is a bit expensive and I like the idea of making your own. Is there any kit suppliers / makers you can recommend that are a bit cheaper than the skaledale?

    Thanks

Metcalfe Models do pretty good kit of various buildings, both railway and urban. Can get them on ebay or any of the main model shops. google for their website to see what they offer

For an alternative and much cheaper DIY solution, paper kits can be bought and downloaded online to give surprisingly good results. Have a look at http://www.railwayscenics.com/ and http://www.scalescenes.com/ for example to see if anything takes your fancy.

Wow, that station is fantastic. Thanks for the advise. Is it possible to weather a cardboard building?

My railway modelling never got that far I'm afraid, some other poster may be able to advise. If not, contact one of the model railway societies. Good luck with the railway !

Really helpful thread here, I've been downloading models online for ages now and never thought of doing the same for my model railway!
