    Hi,

Parents were in Harvey Norman yesterday and the shop is offering 100 euro off a toshiba laptop purchase if you subscribe to eircom broadband.

Parents already have an eircom landline (free) and phone. No broadband. Any one know if there's a catch in the offer for them?

    Many thanks,

    William

From my experience the catch is buying form Harvey Norman, worst than useless if you have a problem.

THERES no catch if they want broadband ,but see what other laptops are going for.The basic standard broadband on eircom has a 10gigabyte usage limit per month.See is it a good laptop for the price, look on dell.ie for comparisons.IF you are only using ten gig, you may as well get a usb modem 20euro per month o2,or 3 broadband.
OR go for eircom unlimited dl broadband around 35euro.
I presume you have to sign up with eircom for 1 year.
ITS like sky, sign up,and you get a free skybox, and you can use it after a year, for free channels, even if you unsubscribe.
its a way of getting new customers,if you sign up with company x, you,ll prbly stay with them.
