Eventually got my new 7D on Friday, Saturday morning put my Sigma 70-200 f2.8 on it for a local rugby match and the lens wouldn't focus!! Anyone else have problems??

I got on to Joe in The Camera Centre thankfully he gave me a loan of a lens to get me sorted for the match. He is going to contact Sigma for me on Tuesday to find out what is going on.

Might be an old version of the lens that needs re-chipping, only heard of this with older lenses though.

The lens is less then 1 year old and works perfectly on my 1000D.

If it needs to be rechipped anyone any idea of how much that is going to cost?

I would have thought the 7d would be 'primed' for all lenses.
I've a 70-300 Sigma - over 10 years old and works perfect with the 7d.

Fingers crossed it won't cost much especially after just buying the 7D!
