Without seeing it I'd say it's just a typical FTA receiver with Now and Next only, spend a bit extra and get a Freesat one with a proper EPG!

I seen it for sale myself and was thinking of buying it.

what channels can you get on it using the sat receiver from xtra vision

can you get Bbc 1 or 2 Discovery channel or utv with it ?

Havent seen it, but usually the cheap end Televes boxes are the same as the ones they sell in Lidl and are made by Comsat of Germany, not bad for the price, but not a great build in my opinion. Better to pay a little more for a better receiver such as a technomate or Manhatten.

    No Discovery

If you point your dish to 28.2e (same direction as a sky dish) the better channels will be:

    BBC 1/2/3/4 and BBC HD
    ITV 1/2/3/4 and ITV HD
    Channel 4, E4, More4 and Film 4
    Five
    Travel Channel
    LuxeHD

Plus 1 channels of some of the above, "Zone" channels and a few old and straight to TV movie channels.

    Also slappers on couches.

    Full list here.

No HD channels on a 60 Euro receiver though!

Put in 2 this morning for a guy in Dundalk, as stated, just basic FTA receivers.
Nearly identical to the Triax model.

Anything that's Freesat branded will have an 8 day EPG (for the FTA Astra channels) and Red button features:

I went into The video shop today to buy Televes Free To Air Reciever
and the guy behind the counter told me it might not work with the sat dish I have from sky so I left empty handed.

I thought it would have worked with the current dish I have installed already.

Anybody know if this is correct?

    Thanks

If this was his best sales technique, he'll soon be leaving empty handed as well!
