I started work last July in a hotel nearby. I knew that, because I didn't have a p45 from my previous job, I would have to get a certificate of tax credits to give to my new employer. In order to get that, I needed to get the employers registered number from the hotel.
As a part time weekend worker, I was never working at the same time as the person who was in charge of the accounts. I asked the General Manager/owner for this number and was told that she didn't know it and would have to find out from the accountant. Thus began a long winded and fruitless attempt to get the number from the hotel directly.
I finished up in that hotel just before christmas and just after at the beginning of the new year got my p45 and p60 in the post. I was looking over that p45 earlier today and noticed that it contained the employers registered number on it. My questions for you are; how do i reclaim the €1700 emergency tax thats been paid on it, and will things be OK tax-wise with my new employer, who have been a lot more forthcoming about any information that I require.:D

    Hi

Ring revenue and ask for a balancing statement for 2009 or p21.

Your new employer should be able to sort out your tax once you give hi the p45 you received from your previous employer.

    Kind Regards
