I was walking past the old Dundrum Shopping Center today and noticed yet another new shop (fish shop) open in the old place.
Good to see the centre coming back to life again and becoming somewhat of a fresh food spot.
Wondered into the fish shop for a look and was surprised too see how cheap it was  its the only such shop i know of around and apart from supermarkets the only place i can think of. The guy working there was telling another customer that they are there a week and its the companies first in dublin. Got myself a bit of Cod for the dinner tonight :D alot better than any rubbish i ever got in the chipper anyway
Glad too see them open and too see shops opening there again.

Was in there myself today, it is quite reasonable for fresh fish. Good selection too, will do well.

The new butcher shop is top quality, it is expensive however. Good to see some life coming back to the centre of Dundrum.

It's great, I was in there last Saturday and got three different lots of fish, good quality and so much better value than anywhere else around. Before that I was buying fish in the butchers in Stillorgan or Superquinn Ballinteer.
That new butcher sells a 3 litre carton of milk for the same price as a two litre is in other shops, and it is Irish.
The other artisan type food shop was good also, got some things in there that I normally get in the supermarket, but weren't any more expensive, also things that are harder to get, like brown basmati rice and oat bran, very good value. I'll be a regular visitor for sure. I hope there are plans for more good shops down there. I don't like the big shopping malls with the clothes shops, so this suits me much better.
I heard one of the tenants has a 10 year lease so it looks positive to me.

Yum, will pay them a visit soon for sure :)

I've been off fish for ages since I wont eat the rubbish from the supermarkets, or the meat for that matter but that is easily bought in the butchers.

I have to say I am a big fan of buying meat/fish/veg from different shops (specialists if you will) actually works out cheaper for me buying meat from the butcher rather than the supermarket. Had a hankering for some gammon steaks last week , I asked and was told they had none BUT i can slice you up this cut of ham for 5.99 from which I got 6 yummy gammons and a pineapple from the veg shop next door to go with them :)

The thing that let's all of these places down ? The opening hours :(
