Big question is -- are they good or should I hold out for the big G10 bargain someday?

I saw Avatar on the AOC today and it looked fairly impressive! The Sanyo picture quality is really good. The might have them on display in one of the shops near you.

    Whats G10?

The panasonic G10 plasma (new version is the G20) -from the various forums I looked at it seems like a real favourite. I'll pop into xtravision tomorrow for a look at the AOC.

    Trust me on this one-

Save your money and get a G10 with a 5 year warranty....

This isn't a bargain ....well it is if you like buying rubbish.

Well its hardly rubbish! Its a great price for a good TV. Of course the Panasonic plasma is a better TV, its a high end high spec TV! For people on a budget they could go way worse than this TV.

I wonder did the OP in this thread go and buy it. Maybe someone could ask him about it.

I have a Panasonic Plasma myself, they are great sets. If you are serious about your TV's you are probably better off waiting for the G10.

The specs on that AOC are pretty poor, especially that contrast ratio - 4000:1 for a 42"?! Like someone said, they're not rubbish but I wouldn't be rushing in to buy them. I'd call them budget TVs, decent savings from RRP though.
