I have eircom.net email address on my home PC. I am getting 60-80 emails of spam a day. Any ideas of what I can do to stop it?

I have an eircom.net email address and get hardly any (none at all in the last two days). Spammers tend to generate addresses and maybe yours just happens to be one which is generated frequently or has been gleaned from somewhere as a 'live' email address.

My father has eircom.net account two, its fulllllllllllllllllllll to the brim with spam and crap its unreal. You prob entered the email into a site who then passed it around and then that's how you got this spam its very common. You need to create a second email one for sites your unsure of, so if the sit is dodgy you don't more emails full of spam to your primary account. Next you gotta set up a spam filter (your programme will have one built in) this will send the spam to the junk box.

Eircom webmail isn't really user friendly regarding tagging SPAM.

What I did before I deleted my eircom accounts was,
open a gmail account, and used gmail to access my eircom accounts.

in the settings > accounts and imports > check mail using POP3
add your settings for this account, username and password and pop3 settings which can be obtained from the eircom website.

You can also set which email account as default when sending email just above those options.

So you can use your eircom webmail without accessing their UI along with all gmails functions.

Opps, just saw the date of this thread.
