Upgrading licenses

    you might get asked this all the time but...Just wondeing if anyone could tell me how to go about upgrading my license from a4 to a3..i havent been upgraded but would like to:D

    Just contact Cycling Ireland or your club secretary if they handle licenses.

    There is no issue upgrading, you can upgrade yourself pretty much to whatever you want. Although I'd question why you would want to, rather than staying in A4 and earning it. If there is a particular A3 race you want to do not open to A4s is the only good reason I can think of.

    A4's can't ride most stage races so that would be the most likely reason (apart from ego ;)).

    A4 to A3 is easy to do as Blorg says contact CI. To go up from that you usually have to earn it though (or ask the grading committee to assess you).

    so would i just post back the license and number with a letter stating that i want upgraded..It's 2 do the ras dun na gall btw!

    Best to phone them first the number in on the CI website.

    Haha, good luck. I am planning on doing that one myself (persuaded by an anorexic teammate) and with current weight will be utterly murdered. Perhaps we can form a groupetto together.
