I'd be suprised if that car had any scrap value.

Seriously though what sort of an idiot would actually post that on a website.

Someone using the same mobile number has been putting buckets of stuff up on donedeal with zero info apart from location "limerick" and price. Looks like a full yard of stuff - Volvo V70 T5, Volvo C70 etc all 1k or 1.5k. (google Call me on 0876349825 and look at the cached pages)

Came across some other stuff in Limerick that seems to be linked to that number or that location, some is crashed, some is just suspiciously cheap but the porsche takes the biscuit for shadey!

These cars are being sold from a very similar looking location but using a different mobile number...

Edit - same number, just that he has a name on some of the ads rather than "me"

Did you not read the two posts above?

Or this from the link I posted:
Andy from the Motor Factors was taken away in cuffs after the stolen EVO was advertised for sale complete with numberplate from the stolen car

This is a breakers yard in ballysheedy, just outside limerick city. It used to be operated by Mike McManus ( a brother of the famous JP). The guy who runs it now is Jack Moore.
Couldn't tell you anything more about the cars as i haven't called into there for a while...touch wood my own car is going well at the moment.

For the attention of all those commenting above. The Porsche Boxter is a water damaged vehicle purchased from one of Irelands leading insurance companies. The car is an 'end of life vehicle' which must be broken. The car was sent to mechanics to be started so as to ensure the engine and running gear were working. We do this to ensure all mechanical parts are serviceable before sale.

The reason for removing the number plate details is to ensure they are not copied.

    <snip>

    Thank you

Autobreak Car Dismantlers, thanks for clearing that up. I've removed your contact details from your post as this isn't the place to advertise.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,857 ✭✭✭langdang

:o they were bad ads tho!
I'm sure all his future ads as a legitimate business will specify "for breaking" if that's the case, or give some details of the cars that are being sold as "drive away". Even mentioning the business name somewhere might help, no info except "contact ME at 08x" gives a bad impression...

just to let you know that the porsche was advertised as for breaking only,if you had read the ad properly you would have seen this.

I was down to ye today actually. Professional setup ye have there, and just to make up for any conclusions that people may have drawn from my comments on some of the previous ads -it's perfectly legit looking!

MCMLXXV, please report the private message if you feel it was inappropriate; the admins will then take a look at it. I'm going to snip your post for the time being, as I'd prefer that the contents of a private message are dealt with by the right people.

Edit - in fact, if anyone else received a private message that they felt was abusive, it should be reported - it's the same icon for reporting a post.

I'm closing this thread at this stage.
