Recommend Accomadation in Lanzorete

I'm going to Lanzo at the end of the month, I'll be going for 9 nights with my gf and I'm undecided which area to stay in and weather to stay in a hotel/apartment or villa.

I'v never been to Lanzo before and I'v been researching on the net and it seems Puerto del Carmen seems the more "happening" spot but I'v read Playa Blanca is lovely too?

Also if someone could suggest a hotel or apartments in these areas would be great


I'm on a budget but not a tight budget but at the same time I don't want to be staying in the Ritz if you know what I mean!

we stayed at the elena apartments in Puerto Del Carmen and booked with otel.com http://www.otel.com/hotels/elena_apartments_hotel_puerto_del_carmen.htm

not 5 star but still fine, right in the middle of the town (which is deceptively big and sprawled btw), right next to the bars and clubs and right next to the beach. if you are looking for something cheap and clean and in a great location you can't go wrong

We've stayed at the La Penita apartments before in Puerto del Carmen - absolutely spotless and in a great location down near the Casino

I was thinkin more 4/5 star apartments or villas, as I said I dont mind spending but i dont wanna go mad either!

El Jable in Puerto del Carmen, they're just up the hill from everything.

I'm looking for apartments that are located on a complex with a pool, bar and a few other facilities. I'd like to stay somewhere with a 4 maybe 5 star rating, but def a 4 star.

Fariones hotel or aparthotel in Puerto del Carmen are nice and fit what you seem to be looking for but are fairly expensive! I've stayed in elena and the rooms are very nice, and a steal for what you pay (Paid 315 for a two twin bedroom apartment for a week, between 4 of us it was nothing) just don't offer a huge amount else. Playa Blanca is very nice but also very quiet!

I second the Fariones aparthotel .. Very good standard and great friendly staff. I'm staying there myself for a week in june.

www.tripadvisor.com should be a good starting point for good advice

The sol in matagorda is the place to go,we stayed there about 5 times,keeps getting better each time,stay away from Playa Blanca ,way to quite,but really nice to rent a car and drive down for a few hrs.

I think no matter where you stay you'll love it there.:)

Are you sure you're looking at the elena apartments and not fariones? 800 and above sounds like fariones prices, Just looked at elena on booking.com and it's 245 for 7 nights for a one bedroom.

Stayed in the Sol in Matagorda and not impressed at all. It's probably an ideal place for families, but I found it crowded and busy all the time with insufficient staff to deal with anything well.

OP, take a look at this place: http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g659970-d291320-Reviews-Seaside_Los_Jameos_Playa-Playa_De_Los_Pocillos_Lanzarote_Canary_Islands.html It's between Matagorda and PdelC and ideally placed for nice quiet days and busy nights. 10 minute walk will have you in the main area for bars etc., a further 10 minutes will take you to the harbour.

Hiring a car is a definite must-do. Two days hire is plenty and you can cover everything with ease in that time.
