This is a serious question, so please don't take the piss.

I'm out of a relationship about 5 months and kinda looking to get back in the saddle. But, I'm sick of heading out to pubs and clubs, and it's nearly impossible to meet someone on a night like that anyway. There's no one in work, none of my friends have anyone they could set me up with, and I'm not into meeting someone online (given it a try and hated it).

So, ya, thats basically it. Anyone got any advice?

Could you join a group that share in any interests or hobbies you have? Or join a completely new group? Are there any singles groups in your area? Next boards meet up? Speed dating?

Have a look in the local paper and see what classes or nights are on that catch your eye and go along with a view to meeting new people and that will open avenues for you to meet others...

    Best of luck!

Sorry I should have said. Im 25, so looking for someone aged 20-24 really, so what I'm really asking is where can I go to meet that kind of age group that isn't pubs and clubs. I have looked into speed dating but they seem to cater for older age groups, and I have my doubts that 20-24's are doing night classes, I am very involved in groups with my hobbies, and I volunteer but again everyone in those groups tends to be much older than I am.

I'm not sure if you've tried the paid online dating routine? My advice would be not to bother.

However, there is a one good site I'd gladly recommend to anyone called www.okcupid.com. Superb site. It's free and to be completely honest with you - i've been on the paid sites before - it's 10 times better than sites like maybefirends.com and the like. Nicer commuinity as well!

At the very least, the quizes and tests are fun and well worth the effort.

    Best of luck
