On a recent road trip I came accross a lovely little porperty, that has potential to be a holiday/retirement home

I spoke to a local, who advised me that the owner had died 2 years ago.
He also advised me that the son rarely uses the property. (approx two weeks every year) rest of the time the property remains empty and unused.

how do i go about finding out if the property is in probate.
how do i find the registered owners details ie. contact address or telephone number.

You can check the probate office in the local courthouse.
You could ask some locals as to the whereabouts of the owner or you could try the land registry.
