Basically I am wondering where people get their goalkeeper hurleys as I have been finding it very difficult to get a nice light keepers hurl

Have a look on the threads about hurley makers, most of them would do a goalkeepers hurley to whatever requirement you wanted!

O Brien in Tipp or Frank Murphy in Waterford are the 2 best around this region. They're both probably too far away though.

The key when ordering a hurley is asking for exactly what you want.
Personally I'd always as for a light goalkeeper hurley with no bands (as it helps keep the weight down). Stress it's for shot stopping more than pucking (as obvious as it sounds).

If you have a good one at home, why not get a copy of that one? It gives the hurley maker something to work off of.

I had a lovely light goalkeepers hurley but cracked it twice down the middle because it was too light - looder's idea about copying it is excellent, I was actually gonna get it done with mine and make it slightly thicker, but I've stopped playing so it wasn't worth it!

im in the same boat as baz above. im in antrim and find it difficult to get good hurleys both outfield and keeper sticks.
iv had a look on http://www.handcrafthurleys.com/
but to be fair they all look the same. its difficlut to tell which would be best.
or any good makers up these parts?

I was looking at that website myself the other day and it's pricey enough if your only ordering the one hurley. The prices quoted are probably €5 more expensive than if you went to hurleymaker yourself (+ delivery).

The Quaid goalkeeper one's on it look the business though (although personally I would be very reluctent to order hurley's online)

Just got two from Teddy Mac in Cork and both keepers on our teams are happy with them.
