    hi lads do any of ye know anything about the david brown 1490 turbo are the any use.i am thinking of buying one what are the faults etc. are the powerful

    avoid the hydra shift models

    the one with the straight gear box were bomb proof ,

    have you owned or worked the 1490 were the engines good how were they on power

    I had one briefly but didnt keep it long enough to really test it, it was a hydra-shift model and when the transmittion oil warmed up it took ages to move up through the gears, worked fine when cold, it was sold in good faith the dealer didnt know about the problem and repair was beyond him, so he took it back.

    think they are rated something 80-85 Hp ??
