    Hi,
Was out for a family meal this evening and the old man stopped at a Drink Driving checkpoint on the way home. He had a glass of wine with dinner and I expected the result to show some alcohol in his system but it came back as being nil.

Do the breathalisers simply return an over or under result or do they tell if the amount of alcohol in the system?

    Thanks

    Zero, Pass, Alert and Fail.

    Zero is 0-5

    Pass is 6-29

    Alert is 30-34

    Fail is 35 and over

Do AGS have the right to take someone back to the station if they don't get a "fail" ?

Of course. A Roadside Breath test (RBT) is only an aid to forming the memebrs opinion. Even if they come back zero....if the members formes their opinon then they can arrest.
