    Hi,

A quick check if anyone has problems with Chartbusters particularly Tallaght branch. Just now, I was told by the staff that I have 3 dvds that were returned 3 days late. All the dvds i got out were returned on the very next day (Cus I'm cheap :D). Only 1 dvd I was returned to their drop-in box (the store was not open then) and the other 2 to the counter. They finally cleared the overdue charges after I almost got my claws out. My husband joked that the staff was very close to get her head snapped off since I had an utterly terrible day at work. I told the staff that we would not getting any dvd out from them. Just bloody cancelled our subscription with screenclick as we don't have time for dvd. How abt xtravision? Thanks in advance for any input :)

Disregarding downloads I barely understand why anyone rents DVDs anymore. In many cases you could actually buy the disc for around the price of a rental.

I understand that dvds are really cheap now. But if I'm gonna watch the film once, I see no point buying them. That was my view, esp from someone who moves around every 4 yrs :)

I worked for several years in Movie Magic and Chartbusters.

They're supposed to do a "returns list" at the end of each day to check that nothing was checked in without being scanned (it happens especially in the larger stores due to the volume of titles going in and out)

At the start of each day they are supposed to do a "lates list" which serves the same function as the other list.

Seems like they were not carrying out those jobs, hence you got blamed for having them late.

Also, on numerous occasions title are swiped off the counter. All the shops should have cameras covering the full length of the counter as well as the drop-in box as a back up if a customer claims to have returned something but its not in the vault

    Just some info for you

Agreed, esp if like me you rent four or five at a time.

Burn the branch down, make a rich black ink from the ashes and use it to write a harshly worded letter to someone.

If it were porn ask them to check the return box again.

The cases probably just got stuck to the side wall of the return box.

The one disk they did get obviously wasnt sticky.. must have been Disney

Thanks for everyone's input esp Davegalway. Good to hear from someone who has insider's info on this rental system. I did ask the staff that the timing was too much of a coincidence that all the 3 dvds were recorded 3 days late. She just kept insisting that we returned the dvds late. Well, I'm not getting my dvds from them anymore :)
