    There's been a thread about this already;

    http://boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055891130

They will be showing live GAA Championship games this summer. They're website is currently under construction

I haven't been able to find a planner yet...

MSK.ie isn't tied to the channel at all as it's now called Premier Sports and aimed at the UK market - a related channel called Premier Sports is up and running in the US and has a site and online schedule, but it's being run by different people so... all you can do is sit and wait really.

The only live stuff on the channel right now is Sunday GAA and NRL on Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings...

It is aimed at the uk . Maybe
    More will come in time

You will not get it on the Irish EPG. You will have to get a "freesat from sky" card. At least that is how I'm getting it. Is it on Freesat or FTA/FTV?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 279 ✭✭Pocaide

I have a sky free sat cardbut no Msk, would it have to do with address as its a Northern Ireland address, it can be tuned in manually though

It's FTA , I'm getting a 7 day EPG on my Mediaportal HTPC . It pulls all regional Sky and Freesat EPG along with RTENL direct from the DVB source I'm not sure what Sky EPG region it normally appears on.

Ch 433 on the white Freesat from Sky card. I have a Mid-UK address, but that shouldnt impact on the picture quality. Mine is perfect.

    Mine is perfect.

There must be a perfect picture feed just for you so. I tried to watch a NRL game before and it was a pixellated mess.

msk premier sports have changed their freq, you can find it at,
    11681 - v - 27.5 - 2/3.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,709 ✭✭✭✭Cantona's Collars

Bit slow here-I posted new frequency 2 days ago-its meant to become a subscription channel "in the summer",not enough on it to warrant a subscription but at the minute the live gaa coverage is a bonus especially for the relations 'across the water'

You are probably watching it on a LCD tv. I have the card in an old Sky box that I had before getting Sky+ for the main TV. I connected the old stb to an old CRT tv, and, hey presto, a perfect picture. You wont have any pixillation with CRT:)

Funnily enough there are many standard definition channels that don't give me pixellation on an LCD tv. The picture is far from perfect on Premier Sports.

    Hi,
Just thought I would inform you of what is happening with 'msk' Premier Sports. The channel is called Premier Sports and will be showing Gaelic sports and National Rugby League from Australia over the coming months as well as some pre-season soccer friendlies. As mentioned in the forum it will be going PPV to cover rights cost probably at the beginning of July making this weekend the last in terms of free to air. The cost is expected to £5.99 a month. Am waiting to hear about contracts as we understand viewers would not want to pay for something when it is not on. The website should be up and running in a week. www.premiersports.tv. You can also find us on facebook and twitter. If anyone has any questions please contact richard.webb@mskmedia.com
    All the best,
    Richard.

F off if ye think your getting more money out of me.Im not paying money for one good match a year. Espn is gonna fall to ****e if they dont get back more soccer. They like UFC in my house thats the only reason its still on.

I think eventually you will have to pay to watch every single sporting event as they will be spread across so many ppv or subscriptsion channels.

Bring back the old days when sky had it all.Theres more competition now but its getting more expensive to watch sports

???? He told you that the channel is not available to you. What has a job got to do with anything. Soccer isn't the be all and end all of pay tv.

I think you will find that most pay tv subscribers in Ireland have it for the Sports channels primarily and footie is the reason for that.

    Provide the proof for this.

This website isn't exclusively for Irish people.

msk is for uk audiences only so why post on an irish site???? anyway 5.99 for gaa matches and nrl isnt much of an attraction but there must be some method to the madness.

well correction... its aimed for irish audiences...maybe he should use digitalspy as thats for uk audiences mainly...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,818 ✭✭✭Minstrel27

I know of three people on this site who live in Ireland and have UK subs to Sky. who is to say that there isn't more?

Should all Irish news be banished from DS also? At the end of it all what difference does it really make to your life?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,647 ✭✭✭channelsurfer2

ah dont be so grouchy... i was only stating that it may be of better benifit if he wanted to post on DS as we cant subscribe to it here (legitimetly)...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,818 ✭✭✭Minstrel27

Grouchy is the people who complain about the news being posted here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12 ricardoo3

Calm down, calm down. Yes I am aware that this is primarily a forum for all things Irish but I was just adding my sixpence to a thread started by someone else regarding msk premier sports a while back. Most of this sort of communication is taking place on NRL and GAA forums in the UK aswell as Digital spy. I will not be saying anything else on the matter on this forum if that keeps people happy!
    all the best,
    Richard.

MSK will be a bonus for all the Irish expats living in UK. Theres loads that would gladly pay 5.99 a month to watch live GAA. Cheaper and handier than going down the route of getting an Irish Sky sub and bringing it to England or wherever.I personally know several people in UK that would give their right arm for live GAA coverage. Why are people from Ireland posting complaints here about it? It's aimed at English market and besides we have RTE,TV3 etc. for our coverage, people across the water don't.

Have a white Freesat Sky card so Added this to my favourites last evening.

    Thanks OP

I see premier sports have just signed a 3 year deal to cover the blue square premier league, so all you exiled bath city fans can follow the romans (and others) in their quest for league football....:D

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,818 ✭✭✭Minstrel27

I don't see that selling many subscriptions. How much does it cost to do an outside broadcast?

Its just Setanta by another name. Practically anything they're not offering here - i.e. GAA - already has another rights holder in ROI.

I'm rather dismayed at how this thread has gone. Posters shouldn't be attacked just because they come from another jurisdiction. If I see people doing it again, no matter how well intentioned, bans will result.

    Thread closed.
