price seems ok for the spec, medion isn't one of the top brands so quality of laptop might be a it lower.

    GMA X3100!!!!
Keep moving - for a little more you'll get a decent brand and decent grfx.
The X3100 has no MPEG encode/decoder so your CPU will have to do all the work and the chipset is a bitch on battery life.

At a min get a G45M chipset (GMA X4500MHD) or look for something with nVidia or ATI grfx. These should reduce the load on the CPU, and hence give good battery life.

Spend 550 and you will get a 10x better laptop.

Was looking at the May deals in Argos.
For €479 you can get 1 of 2 Acers... a 4810T which will give you great battery life (SU3500 CPU), or the 5732Z (T4400)
Both come with the GMA 4500M - but not sure if the 5732Z is the HD one or not - you might want to check before hand.

If you're prepared to take a risk with the brand (some might even say there is risk anyway with Acer) then for same money there is a Medion E5411 with NVidia 8200M which is probably the best chipset of them all.
