Medical cards. Specialist wont accept

    Hi,
    I suffer from arthiritis which entails me injecting myself once a week. I am out of work and on a medical card. The specialist i go to does not accept medical cards and insists on seeing me twice a year at €100 a pop just to rewrite my prescription. He doesnt even do a physical check up or nothing.

    Can specialists do this, refuse a medical card?

    its high tech medicine, i think a specialist does
    how do i go about finding a list of specialists in my area. im from limerick. i guess id be looking for rheumatology specialists

    You'd have to go through your GP, ask him to refer you to someone
