Went into iTunes today and saw that movies are now available on the Irish iTunes store. TV shows are still missing though

None of it seems to be HD. Only for some rentals - and even then only on iPad and ATV. Meh, I'll be sticking to my other sources. SD is dead. I wouldn't even watch a tv show in SD anymore.

think i will continue to buy via my US iTunes account.

Also all HD on the US site and more importantly its in Dollars which makes it cheaper!!

I got apple tv a few weeks ago and it was a very worthwhile purchase i cant recommend it enough.

Just noticed a note in the Apple FAQ on renting, "You can only rent and view HD films with your iPad and Apple TV"? Is this the case in other countries? Seems like a stupid limitation for Apple to apply??

Afaik it's the case everywhere except the US. We have the studios to thank for it.

i noticed that when i buy a movie from the US iTunes account it transfers to my iPad,Mac,Apple TV and iPhone(if i want it to) but if you rent a movie, which i have done, it cant be shared easily between devices, if at all.

I rented sherlock homes the other night which was rubbish by the way, but when you rent a movie you have 24hours to watch it from the second you start it on the US iTunes site.
