Why don't you tell people where you're located so they're not recommending someone from the other end of the country.

And what have your quotes been so far? And are you expecting the installer to run the cable too?

    Good call

    House is in Portmarnock

I was thinking the following ,

TV has freesat HD builtin , so have one cable run to a splitter and split to TV in the lounge and then to the main bedroom and get seperate box for there

Not sure if thats the best way to do it though

    Quote's have been close to 200 !

You cannot split a satellite cable so you need a separate cable from the dish for each box. No supplier can quote you on here I'm afraid as commercial interaction is not alowed but there is a supplier sticky thread so you can contact guys directly.

Why dont you look up the small ads in the local papers for people installing cheap FTA kits for €200 and get a cash quote off them?

The best value option is to install it yourself. It's really not hard, nor do you have to have the dish way up in some inaccessible spot on your house. It just needs to have a clear view of the south eastern sky.

Sure Tony shows you how to do it here:

Thanks for that - hoping I can stick it on the back wall or side wall , Any recommendation for what casing I'd need for running the cable back into the house ?

Something to protect the cable if i need to run it down the length of the garden, or will it survive on its own ?

Its usually clipped to a wall using 7mm cable clips

you could bury a length of 1/2" heavy grade pipe and run it through that.

Why would you run it 'the length of the garden'? 99% of dishes are installed on the house and don't need anything more than to be secured to the wall.

Why not add them to the Supplier sticky thread above instead of just repeating the same post in different threads??
