Hey person, whiplash injury to neck and back usually lasts until the settlement check is handed over. In other cases medical advice from a competent practitioner should be sought. Most people find it essential to get a solicitor to handle their application to the injuries board.

OP, you should see a solicitor without delay because there are certain procedural steps that must be taken within 2 months of the accident (i.e. section 8 letter), failure to do so may have adverse consequences for you later in the proceedings. Solicitors will most likely not charge fees upfront and in some cases may even pay for your medical report(s) which will be necessary to bring a claim to PIAB, albeit that you would have to reimburse them for this from the proceeds of any settlement monies.

This is a legal forum so it is probably not the best place to ask about prognosis in terms of your injury, only a Medical Practitioner can advise in that regard.

OP you have a solicitor - direct your questions there.

having worked in the insurance industry it has always been my experience that solicitors do nothing but delay your settlement for anything but serious injuries

piab was set up to streamline it all and negate the need for solicitors for things like whiplash
