    Hi,

    Was looking at at Hersonissos in Crete for holidays this summer, probably in July.Have been to most places.I thought Ayia Napa was one of the best places that I have been to and would be hoping Hersonissos would be along the same lines.i heard it was good back the years and was wondering is it still good.

    I was there years ago. I thought that Hersonissos was an absolute dump, with little to recommend it. I won't be back.

    Was in Hersonnisis a few years ago (a GOOD few years ago!), didnt think much of it, the beach was pretty crap.

    It really depends on what type of holiday you are after, your age group interests etc. and who you are going with.

    If you are after a party party all night holiday then that is a good location.
    For something a bit more laid back Stalis in Crete would be a nicer option.

    It would be a sort of partying holiday.We are all around 21.Probably around four of us going.

    Hersonisos really depends on what you are expecting from a holiday. When I was 18 I went away with the lads for the first time. We all wanted a party party holiday with loads of drink and girls by night and laid back by the pool the next day struggling to breath :) We went when we were 18 and loved it...The next year we went again and enjoyed it although not as much as the first year. The following year we decided to spread our wings a bit and went to travelling around the other greek islands for number of weeks. Let me tell you once we saw how pretty some of the other islands are we wondered how we ever went to Hersonisos. We ended up back in Hersonison towards the end of our holiday and could not wait to get out of it... Its really geared towards teenage, knackers who go out in tracksuits, get absolutely pissed with the fast majority ending up fighting going home covered in blood. If you want my advice look into going to Ios for 2 weeks. You will NOT be disappointed.

    If its a pure out parting drink drink drink holiday your looking for, save some money and go to play del ingles in Gran Canaria.

    The place is a kip but you wont care if its just a drinking holiday your after, the area offers an Irish area, English area and then the rest of europe area.

    The people there are really friendly and a good laugh, I had great fun there when I was younger and theres plenty to see during the day.

    The foam party was great craic too with proper games set up and great hosts that got everyone in the crowd integrating with each other.

    I went to Tenerife the year after and swore never to go back there, its nicer than playa del ingles but much less fun with the people there being more ignorant.
