Any computer shop should have them, probably Curry's or Harvey Norman either, or Maplin's. It's just a standard micro USB cable (the one that comes with the Hero won't fit in a standard micro USB port, but a standard cable will fit the Hero, I do it all the time).

A standard usb cable will fit in it if you have one lying around the house, you can't use the phone for tethering without the genuine htc cable though

Have a few of them lying around and never thought to check. Thanks for your help.

I do it all the time with a standard mini-usb cable using the easytether app that I mentioned in one of the other threads.

Really, I've never tried it myself but the manual says that only HTC cables can be used for tethering, it's nice to know HTC are lying again:D

Anyone who pays that should either ask someone who knows anything about tech 1st or they deserve to be ripped off tbh

    Just remember:

    Mini - not micro!

Hero uses Mini, Nexus and other use Micro.
