all icons on desktop are internet explorer - whats wrong?

    Hi.

    I loaded football manager game onto my laptop a few days ago and everything was ok. Now all my icons on my desktop are all internet explorer icons. When i click on one of them, it will try open the original program (being covered by the icon) in internet explorer. I have tried do a system restore but my anti virus wont allow it (for some reason).

    can anyone tell me whats going on here and what i can do to fix this?

    (i am running windows 7)

    Was it a pirate version of the game or a purchased copy? If it was a purchased copy go to the forums for the game in question and see if anyone else has this issue. If it was a pirated version (naughty) you get what you pay for.

    What P.O.S. anti-virus are you using that won't let you do a system restore?! Whatever it is get rid of it and put Avast Anti-Virus on your machine. Then do a restore. If that doesn't help then backup any files you don't want to lose and wipe and reinstall your OS.
