Have been on the pill and finished my last packet at the end of March and got my period, had unprotected sex the weekend I finished my period and wasn't on the pill - didn't start a new pack in April and now I haven't got my period which was due four days ago - I did take a pregnancy test two days after unprotected sex and it came back negative.

Thanks Sunflower, could it be possible that I am just late as I didn't take the pill last month and my body is getting back to "normal"? I know I won't know the right answer till I take a test but guess just a little nervous. I know I shouldn't have had unprotected sex but unfortuantely these things happen.

Sorry should have said I haven't been on the pill years just since June of last year.

Don't want to sound sanctimonious, but if you had unproctected sex then you should also get yourself checked out for STDs

It could be your body getting back to normal after coming off the pill. The most 'dangerous' time to miss a pill is at the start and end of your strip. So as you had unprotected sex just when you were supposed to be starting your next strip you could be at risk. Saying that four days late isn't that long really. And most people experience irregular periods for a while after stopping the pill.

Don't be worrying too much about it,It will only delay your periods, chances are your not anyway, people make mistakes we all have done this some stage or another if most of us is honest!!

Thanks Denimgirl, I did go to Tesco last night to get a clearblue test and they had none left so went to a chemist but they were closed, I lived in the country and then I went to another Tesco in another town and the same thing, they had none- couldn't believe it they had the clearblue ovulation pack but not the pregnancy one! So I ended up having to buy the Tesco own brand so not sure how accurate that is but it came back negative so maybe it is that I am just worrying about it too much. Thanks again for listening.

sorry for writing again, did a clearblue digital test yesterday afternoon and it came back negative but still no sight of my period - its been overdue 6 days now.

wondering would it be wrong to tell the guy about my worries or just wait and see - we are not together anymore but do still speak to each other.

I would suggest waiting it out until you know what the situation is.
How long were you on the the pill for?
If it was longer then a year it can take a while for your body to re establish a normal cycle as you weren't ovulating while on the pill, it can take from 6 weeks to 6 months for some women when they stop taking the pill.

thanks, I went on the pill in June 2009 so about 10 months. Thought that only occured if you had been on it for years.

    It varies woman to woman.
If it doesn't come soon I'd suggest you go have a chat with your dr about it.
