Maths test set too difficulte??

    Just got back results from maths second year christmas exam. yep thats right 4 months after we sat it but thats not the problem, the problem is the average mark for the class was 26%. It is worth 30% of the overall module.
    I'm pretty sure this is a reflection on the way the exam was presented on the day ie questions were worded badly and maybe just too difficult.
    Or maybe it's an inexperienced lecturer who should stay out of the classroom.
    Or of course option c, theirs 70 or 80 engineers in second year who are as thick as two short planks.

    But what i'm wondering is dose this happen often and is their any way to find out was the test set at a fair level?

    Dose this mean that along with the rest of my continual assesment marks i'm stuck having to get about 70% in the summer maths exam to get into third year?:eek:
