What resolution is needed to make an image indistinguishable from normal vision?

Mods feel free to move if this is the wrong place.

I was watching some 1080p content on my computer monitor earlier and while the picture was nice and clear it is still not the same as reality.

So my question is this, what pixel density or resolution would the perfect tv have to be to produce an image that is indistinguishable from reality (ignoring colour, white balance etc), I'm guessing maybe 4 x 1080p ?

The actual resolution depends on distance, so its a measure of pixels per degree. The eye wouldn't be able to identify separate pixels at a perceived size less than 0.35 arc-minutes.
