Can anyone show me the transfer rules. My daughter has not played at our local club for at least two years and she has not been registered there.
She now wants to play for another club with all her friends from school.
I saw on another thread where if you haven't played for 96 weeks you could go to another club..
Is this true it seems to be very open..
I found it hard to even get a copy of the rules on the GAA website.
    Thanks:)

The GAA transfer rules are different to the camogie and ladies football.

Couple of questions so I can help you with the problem and tell you for definite
    1. Is it ladies football or camogie that she is playing?
    2. Has she definitely never been registered with the first club, you did not have to fill in any form for that club or pay anything to the club?
    3. Are you living in the town or the country?

Camogie and ladies football have different rules relating to player eligibility.

Some of the ladies football information is here along with the copy of the transfer form

Some of the camogie information here along with a copy of the transfer form

    Thanks for your Info.

    1. It is Ladies Football that she is playing.
    2. She was registered but has not renewed her membership or paid for it for at least two years.
    3. We are living in the country and she is looking to transfer to another country club in the adjoining parish.

The rules seem very open. Do you know is there anywhere I can buy a copy of these rules also do you know anything about the 96 weeks as mentioned in another thread.
    Thanks Again:)

Liveline had a very interesting show on this last year about transfers between clubs. As a rule they are keen to discourage transfers between clubs due to the community ethos.

96 weeks for GAA, ladies football is different afaik

Because it is ladies football, and she is not residing in the parish that she wants to play for, it could be tricky.

I've had a look at the official guide www.ladiesgaelic.ie/docs/official_guide2009.pdf and it says that
    117. A Home Club means:
    (a) A Club in the players Native Parish, or
    (b) The Club in the Parish in which she resides, or
    (c) The First Club with which she legally played in an Officially recognised Club Competition.

Players taking part in the Official Schools or Colleges competitions are exempted from this rule.
A Parish for the purpose of this rule, shall be subject to, the county boundaries, the district under the jurisdiction of a Parish Priest or Administrator. However where a parish overlaps a county or counties, the club or clubs concerned, have the option of playing within either
county. The players concerned may play county football for either county subject to transfer regulations.
The Parish Rule shall not apply within cities or towns. However players residing in cities and towns must play with a club within the city or town unless she is exempt under Rules 116 to 119.

    118. A Player who has played her first Club Football with her Native Parish Club and having since transferred to a New Club, following the disbandment of her Original Club, may, with Central Council permission, after taking all circumstances into consideration, remain with her New Club, even if her Original Club reforms.

    119. Where a player resides in a Parish where there is a Ladies Gaelic Football Club, she must play with that Club, unless she is exempted as in Rules 117 and 118.

In 117, your daughter meets all three criteria and would not be exempt in either 118 or 119 that states she must play with the club that is in her parish?? What county are you based in??

The best bet would be to get in contact with the secretary of the club she wants to transfer to, because registration could be closing soon. That club secretary can get onto the county secretary who can say for definite if she can just register for the new club, or will need a transfer. Recently some counties have been very strict with transfers, because of some ridiculous carry on before
