Is there a bus from Bray to Parkwest?

What is the quickest/shortest route on public transport,

That is a very tricky journey, with a few options mainly via city centre. Journey time would be about 80/90 minutes each way.

1) DART to Tara Street or 145 to city, LUAS or bus to Heuston and train to Parkwest.
2) DART to Tara Street or 145 to city, LUAS to Kylemore and shuttle bus to Parkwest
3) DART to Tara Street or 145 to city and 79a or shuttle bus to Parkwest
4) DART to Sandymount, 18 bus to Kylemore Road and walk/shuttle bus to Parkwest

The 145/79a option can be done using a Travel 90 smartcard for EUR 1.80 per total trip each way (it costs EUR 18 for a 10 journey ticket), provided you get on the 79a within 90 minutes of boarding the 145.

Another bus that will get you close to Parkwest is the 151; it stops outside Tara Street station and is quite a good service. It will leave you about 5-15 minute depending on how fast you walk and where in the estate you are going to but it's another decent option.

AMC (which provides the shuttle bus from kylemore luas stop to parkwest), also runs a bus from the city centre to parkwest. It's a whole lot faster then either the 79A or 151. Costs 2 euros per journey. Pick up points are outside the usit office on south quays and the corpo offices. Frequency is about 20-30 minutes during rush hour.

The point is though that the journey will be more expensive using AMC because the OP will have to pay twice - with Dublin Bus a Travel 90 will do the job.

The 79A timetable is rubbish too - only every second bus is an A and goes to Park West, so you can be waiting a long time for one. The 151 can be got outside Tara Street or on Dame Street direct to Nangor Road.

However going home the 79A might work although as an old route it goes through half the estates in Ballyfermot before heading into town. If you time it though it can be quicker to get than the 151.

And as for the train - you would want to be very lucky for that to work for you because they are so infrequent.

Presume you are working at the Nangor Road end? Some businesses are at the Killeen Road end in which case the 151 is the best option and you'd get off at an earlier stop.

That's one of those journeys that's very quick by car (20 mins?) but a major PITA by public transport. A similar journey was my incentive to buy a car and learn to drive!

Probably about 30 mins by car.

Google is saying a bit less than 20 mins, traffic permitting of course. Shur it's all motorway, all 17 or 18 miles of it.

Aye - see that now sorry. It is the more expensive option too but up twice as fast as the 79a or 151.

Also the new dublin bus route changes appear to show a merging of the 79a and 79. The terminus remains as parkwest but apparently it now becomes a cross city service to Beaumont. This will mean a return of the 79(a) to the inchicore bottleneck that always added 10 minutes to journey times.
