Doing side extension to side of a 3 bed semi, Dublin semi. Presently brick at front of house from ground to first floor and then render in upper story and all round back and side.

Architect now wants to put keep front as is BUT also have a brick wrap around along side and back(ground to first floor). Maintains will really bring out the look of the house etc. My feeling its a bit too much (particularly in cost, budget is already tight)questions:

Anyone else done this brick to side and back?
per mtr sq how much extra would brick cost over render?
Maintaince wise and looking good over the years which be the best?
