Can anybody tell me what exactly this complex is like. is it as bad as everyone says it is or is it grand? is it far from the chemistry department and how far is it from town? im going down to UCC by myself, do you think it would be better to get college accommadation as opposed to just renting a house with a couple of…

I'd say Vic Lodge is full by now easily, Farranlea is quite near it though and that had spaces until fairly late last year. You're probably better off, there seem to be fire alarms going off at night nearly once a week there.

I think for first year getting college accommodation's probably better, they tend to put first years living together which is handy and it's easier to meet new people that way cos lots of people go in on their own. You're pretty late looking for it now though, most of the ones that are close to college will be full, like Castlewhite and Brookfield. Deanshall or Farranlea are your best bets I think.

Deanshall's practically in town, Farranlea (and Vic Lodge) are about a half-hour's walk or ten minutes on the no.8 bus. By the chemistry department I assume you mean the Kane, that's on campus...Deanshall's probably a small bit nearer. Hope that helps!
