I got accepted to Maynooth recently to start the HDip in September. Just wondering has anybody secured their teaching practice yet? I'm only starting to look and I'm getting worried that I may be well behind at this stage ah!!

Also how were the first meetings you had with the principals? Do they interview you asking all about your CV or why you want to do the HDip and what you feel you can bring to the school etc etc? I'm just nervous that when I do go into the schools I'll get all nervous like I do in all interviews!!

    Thanks :)

Hey, I did it a couple of years ago. Don't be nervous most principals just want to have a chat with you. Be confident, you've got a place on the course! Write a letter saying why you want to teach in their school (look up website, if you see sth extra curricular that you like, say you would be willing to help out with that- chances are you wont have to much as you will only be there two days a week). Apply to lots of schools, I landed up getting accepted in about 4 of them and had to decide which one then! I would do it asap though(as in this week) as principals wont have time to meet you in the last few weeks of the year. My school is now sending out letters to those who applied for interview... Good luck! Its actually a really good course ~(a lot of ppl complain about it but i found it good) Enjoy!
