I never paid much attention to this before; I always wore runners whenever I was playing, but it's been three years and when I went to play last week I realised I had no really suitable footwear. I wore what I had handy, similar to these:

The guy at the court gave me a bit of a ticking off about them being marking soles (I highly doubt it myself) and moreover not the most comfortable shoes for playing in.

I don't really want to go spend a fortune on new runners and everything in the squash section of the local sports shops are really ugly, but my only other pair of 'sporty' shoes are adidas superstars, similar to these:

I haven't a clue if the soles are marking or if they would be more comfortable for squash, to be honest.

Has anyone any advice or recommendations?
