Smack my bitch up, Setting Sun, Come to Daddy, Windowlicker, Hey Boy Hey Girl, any of the Deadmau5 stuff. In my opinion they come nowhere close to this

I felt this deserved its own thread. Hit me if I'm wrong.

Yeh I think it's a great video, "savage" I think was the word I used when I first saw it!

Having said that, I don't think it's the best music video I've ever seen.

There were also some points made by The Guardian about the random 'shocking' scenes thrown in for no apparent reason - it just seemed a bit forced

Its beautifully shot but its a complete mess of ideas. I dont know exactly what its trying to say. Also more importantly the song is a pile of gash. I'm a fan of M.I.A but this has to be one of the worst she has ever put out.

Pseudo-intellectual gash. And I like the guardian.

There was this same nonsense when 'Smack My Bitch Up' and 'Rubber Johnny' came out. Shock for shocks sake? Take any action/horror movie ever. And given the production values here are as good as 'Heat' or something, you're not stretching the analogy

Not entirely true. They just made it almost impossible to find.

It's like an evil sequel to that Vodafone ad where the guy organises a Gingerfest on his mobile :D

Had to turn it off, the song is like a bottled headache. Desperate crap. As for the video, as someone said it looked pretty well shot. Otherwise tries too hard to make some point or other.

Yeah it's a mad video alright, here's another one from the same director - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfjCyXmMZek

You can just watch it on her website: www.miauk.com

Have to agree with the sentiments about the song, I really liked Kala but this has a weird punk-rock vibe to it (at least that's what i'd call it) which I'm not getting at all

I'd definitely see the music as being worked around the video rather than the other way around... although I'd be mildly interested in seeing what the 'radio' version is like :D

Another cracking music video of recent times is this one. Completely different genre but damn good - that's no CGI btw!
