hi guys, just wondering if anyone can tell me how i can have the images i shoot with my canon 30d appear on a laptop/computer screen as soon or a couple of seconds after i shot them? i have seen this a few times on various fashion shoots on tv but was wondering do i need a specific application and/or a specific lead from the camera to the computer.
    Thanks

Haven't done it as yet but you are looking for "tethered capture" - it will be in the software that came with your camera or you can try lightroom 3 beta 2. It has it, and is free (in beta mode) until June 30th (i think was the expirey date).

yes you can shoot tethered without live view, I do it with my D80.

The EOS Utility software that comes with the 30D will let you do it. Can't remember if you need to use Zoombrowser at the same time though.

Yes you can but it depends on the camera and the software. Camera question is fairly obvious but do you have/use LR (that was mentioned earlier) or Canon DPP software??

I've started shooting tethered with Lightroom 3 beta 2 and it works well, takes a few seconds for the photos to appear though.
