An Air Corps plane was forced to make an emergency landing after smoke was discovered in its cabin.

The CASA aircraft, which had been on maritime patrol off the south-west coast, was diverted to Kerry Airport.

A specialist team was deployed from Baldonnel in Dublin to carry out a technical examination of the plane, which landed without incident.

A Defence Forces spokesman said all six crew were safe and well.

Hopefully this won't keep the Casa out of action for too long.

Engine failure apparently, all stood down, R115 was tasked too but no other issues found.

I know we have more than one, but it's like saying "the car is out of action", I'm not referring to every single car. Calling something "the ....." is a common Irish idiom.

And anyway, the news report refered to that specific a/c, so for Dyflin to refer to it as THE was technically correct!! :D;):p

    From that wonderful movie, Casablanca...

"Of all the airports in all the town in all the world, you had to drop into my one..."
