HTC Hero Help question

Firstly apologies if i shouldnt have started a new thread but couldnt find any sutible threads for my problem that didnt have thousands of posts in them!

PHONE: HTC HERO
NETWORK: unlocked from orangeUK, meteor sim in
ROM: Stock

1. Bluetooth doesnt work properly?! Can add people to my list but just cant send/receive files? This something to do with the firmware?
2. When I receive a message and the notification appears I always slide down the notification tab and click into the message although the notification that I have received a new message still remains and it gets irritating having to 'clear notifications' when a "new" message isnt actually new! Any ideas? (Note: this doesnt happen all the time, quite frequent though)

Any help would be greatly appriciated.

To answer your question 1, you cannot send or recieve stuff via BT on the Hero V1.5. If you can update to android 2.0/1 I'm pretty certain you can send stuff? Or else root the phone.

To answer question 2:

It sounds like you are using an app for your SMS such as Handcent SMS?

If you are then you may need to turn off the notifications for the default messages app on the hero because you are getting notifications from the default app and the app you have chosen...
