Hi all, Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on a query ..?
Last time I went to Dublin on the train, I purchased a day return ticket and cashier told me that I could use the ticket on Dublin bus. Does that apply to the Luas too I'm wondering.
    Thank you all.

You have to make sure that it includes travel to the city centre. Luas will check to see if it says "Luas" or "IFS"

This is quite a hoary old chesnut that keeps returning.

The only "automatic" Rail-Bus entitlement on a Rail Ticket to Án Lár is the one for a journey between Kingsbridge and O Connell Bridge usually on a 92.
IF a Rail Traveller requires a further bus add-on they must request it and have their Rail ticket so endorsed, afaik the extra charge is minimal.

However most Rail travellers simply sing dumb, ignoring the little bit about "Valid on 92 Route only" and happily wave their Rail Ticket around the place from Swords to Greystones without challenge.

What it underlines for me is the total lack of Ink in Irish Rail printing machines as I`ve yet to see a clearly printed Rail Ticket outlining the relevant Bus entitlement ! :)

Men, it has been well said, think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, and one by one.
