Hope this in the right forum-mods feel free to move if not!
I am booking flights to America and the ones i'm looking at are with US Airways and i'd have a 4hour or so stopover in Philidelphia airport. I am going Dublin-Phily-Seattle and then on the return journey LA-Phily-Dublin. I have to change planes in the airport, but i've never had a stopover in the US.
Has anyone been in that airport?
Would i have enough time to spare what with having to change planes and everything?
Is there anything to do in the airport-i don't know if it's big or small or anything!
    Any help appriciated
    Thanks!

Normally the travel agent or whoever provided the tickets would account for stopovers though sometimes I admit it can be tight :)

4 hours will be plenty to check out the stores that Philadelphia airport has to offer.

I think we had two hours stop over and we missed our connecting flight in phili last year. The whole effort of collecting your bags, outting them back in and going through security again. Just keep and eye on the screens. Also you cant hear the annonuncements in the food court, hence why I missed our calling

Flew through Philly last year and had to change terminals but there was no problem! Only delay was getting bags off the Dublin flight on the way out which was quite long. But with four hours you should have no problem! Coming back you can have your bags booked straight through to Dublin!

BTW be careful with carrying fruit! While we were waiting for bags in Philly a customs officer with a sniffer dog came round and caught at least six people who had apples, bananas, etc in their carry on which is not permitted - you cannot bring fruit into the country! Don't know if they were fined or not but she was quite forceful in writing something on customs form and telling them that officers would deal with it at the customs desk!
