Amazon Marketplace dispatch times?

I ordered a cd on Sunday and got my confirmation email. However I'm still waiting for a dispatched email. I contacted the seller and they said the order is still being processed! They said if I don't get an email in "several days" I should contact them again!! The cheek!! Are they allowed to mess me around like this? The order confirmation email stated the dispatch date would be between 26th to the 27th. Should I contact them and cancel and order from someone else?

Amazon marketplace is similar to buying off eBay in that it's different sellers with different service levels. This particular seller sounds shocking tbh - I'd be inclined to cancel and go elsewhere as I'd have lost all confidence in them after that.

Thanks mate I did cancel and they were actually very quick to process the cancellation! :D I think I know you from the Spurs forum...hopefully next week starting Saturday will be a great one! :) COYS!

Like ebay as mentioned, dunno why amazon ruined their good name, not sure if there is a vetting system in place.

Does anybody know how to exclude these sellers in your search, I think it was posted before, I cannot see the option on amazon though.
EDIT -when I do a search I can click on free supersaver delivery and only those amazon items appear, but I am 99% sure the other day I did this and a 3rd party seller appeared -however amazon did not sell the item at all so this might be the reason (?)

On the bottom left there should be a choice of sellers ,I don't think you can account save search options though.

Might be a firefox addon :D

Cheers I saw this before but it was missing recently. I now see why though, if you do a search loads of items appear but you do not get to select the seller, you must pick a department in the dropdown menu. Only then do you see the sellers. This is a bit stupid as just like ebay the same items can be in various categories, sort of crossover items.

Amazon can be a bit backward when using it like this ,it takes a bit of getting use to.
