I'm having problems removing the retractable shoulder stock, Is there anything else i need to do besides pressing down release latch?

press down the catch and place a flat blade screwdriver between the plastic bit that pushes the pin up, and the metal pin itself. the lever doesnt lift it enough to remove the stock from the tube, just enough for it to move back and forth.
