I got my hands on bad company 2 recently and thought from the you tube vids it wouldbe amazing, yet when I played the online I wasnt as impressed as I thought I should be.. Dont get me wrong some of the visuals are really good and the interactivity with the buildings and vehicles great but I felt a little disappointed..

Is this a game that you need to give time or maybe play with a close knot group or is it just not a great game? Im have thinking of trading. Any thoughts? As I say maybe MW2 has ruined it for me I dunno...

    Hey look, fanboyism bull!

The truth is BFBC2 is a completely different game to MW2. I found it took a bit of getting used to but now I do actually prefer Bad Company 2 over MW2. For one, sniping is a hell of a lot nicer in BC2, the perks system and unlocks dont upset balancing, all in all I just prefer it.

Its a matter of opinion but to say one is better than the other would be wrong. Both are great games but they are different games too.

    AGREED!!

No the fact is MW2 encoureges camping by rewarding you for staying alive as long as possible and in other ways.
BF is a team game and if you can put a squad together with headsets it is a far better game than MW2.
I didn't need time to get used to it, just needed a squad

Yeah, i thought it was a letdown as well, got bored quickly. The orginal BF2 is still better than both tho :D

You have uncovered something big , Im afraid lads we are rattled .

Where's me tin foil hat ;)

I'd say it has. In that you've been playing that mediocre game for so long that it's warped your mind into having a poor taste in games. If you stay off MW2 for a week and play an actually good game like BC2 for a while it might self-correct and restore a good taste in games. Hopefully you're not too far gone.

at least BC2 gave a prompt on hitting level 22 or thereabouts saying 'you could continue, but its not really worth your while..' or something similar - whereas MW2 does nothing of the sort to say 'just stop already! enough.'

indeed, i found the MW2 prompt on hitting top rank to reset stats as a means to continue still, or be called 'chicken' fairly offensive.

still, both great games!! just know when to stop. new maps on a regular basis are the key to longevity, but it'd be at least 2 a month to keep me satisfied.

Ive given up and sold BAttlefield its just not for me. Very average shooter with too few players to fill the maps. Better than MW2 but far from good.

yeah.. i'd agree on that. whether its down to same formula tiring or just inferior products - a bit of both for me.

however i believe BC2 could technically have been BC1 DLC. MW2 had a few core changes i think.. still, if these companies released a new map every fortnight, i'd probably continue. some folk prefer a map to be ingrained in their frontal lobe after 1-2months play, for whom it only then begins to 'pick up'. but that ain't me

    True that !!

I think both games feel more like extra map packs than a new game.

I would see comparing BFBC2 to MW2 like comparing Gran Turismo to Burnout paradise. Both are great games, but offer a different experience. Personally I am a MW fan (as well as a Burnout fan) though that doesn't mean I can't recognise the sheer quality that is BFBC2 (or gran turismo).

    CS ftw :D
