Excessive inside front tyre wear

    Hi folks,

Looking for opinions here. As the title says my car has been experiencing excessive wear on the inside of both my front tyres. It is right at the inside shoulder of the tyre where the thread meets the wall. Had to replace both front Falken tyres that were only 6 months old as they were completely bald on the inside depite the rest of the thread being practically new.

The quick and cheaps things such as tyre pressure, balancing and alignment have all been checked and nothing found. Car is booked in for it's schedualed service the week after next and I'm going to get them to check the suspension and steering. In the mean time would anyone have any ideas as to what might cause this kind of excessive wear? Car is a 2006 Volvo S40 diesel btw.

What mileage did you do on the tyres?

    What size are they?

Is this tyre size recommended for the car (see handbook), and are the wheels original or aftermarket?

Edit: did the same people who fitted the tyres 6 months ago fit them this time and did they do all the checks like balancing, alignment etc. Sounds like the steering is out of line. Someone else here will know better.

    Tyre size is 205/50/R17

Rims and tyre size are factory standard.

There was about 15k km put on them.
