I'd imagine Waterford will go into the game as favourites being reigning Munster champions and they still have a handful of important players from last years campaign. Much will be expected of Mahoney and Dillon in particular. Should be a close game though

1-10 to 0-6 at half time. Waterford on top and playing well. There is a stiff blustery breeze which generally favoured Waterford in the first half so far from over and done as yet

Very good solid and convincing display for Waterford. They started a little slow, but once the goal went in they never looked in any danger. Some very good displays I felt from Stephen O Keeffe, Luke Egan, Darragh Fives, Paudric Prendergast, Paudric Mahony and Jake Dillon. To be fair though the whole team played well, and played for each other as a team, there always seemed to be a man available for a pass or be first to the breaking ball. They took their scores very well and also never needed to move into top gear really.

Waterford play whoever comes out of the losers section in the semi final so will be a while before they know their next opponents. Great to have championship hurling back. Must be said a good crowd at Walsh Park considering the 6.30 throw in time and even the considerable lure of Barcelona v Inter Milan on the TV
