    Hi,
I am just wondering if this has happened to anyone else who uses sage line 50.

Yesterday afternoon we tryed to logon to sage using the default logon as we normally do and it denied us access.

We have been in contact with sage for support and they can't seem to fix the problem.

Has anyone ever come accross this? I find it strange that it worked fine in the morning and then in the afternoon it just stopped letting us logon.

    Thanks

    Haven't come across it.

Sage should be able to bypass all passwords. Is it they can't help or wont because there's no support contract?

If there is a support contract they can't just say they can't help.

Or they would be trying to get you to pay for the support contract!

No we have support. They spent the morning trying to fix it remotely, to no avail.

I just find it a strange situation, where it just stops working!

They need to get their bums down to you ASAP.

Might need to think of worst case scenario - when is the last time you had a back up?

I have the same problem but I don't have the maintenance contract this year as I've never used them in the past. I find it interesting that someone who does have the contract still can't be helped. Have they come up with an update on your problem yet? Thanks.

Sage were unable to solve the problem for us. We had to get an IT person to come in and look at the problem... He suggested bringing the PC back to a certain point in time when sage was working. This worked and we were able to log back in.

It looks like it was more a PC corruption issue to a specific file as opposed to a sage problem. At least we are back online with no data lost :)

Glad to hear it - you must be delighted. I have got mine working too but on a different pc - just uploaded my backup disc and it's all there. Maybe my laptop has the same problem - will take a look at that. Many thanks.

Hi I have a few questions about rolling forward the year end on sage...

I have rolled forward the year end, but when i go onto the corrections section, all the transactions from the previous year are still showing...

similiarly when i look at the nominal section, I still see all the transactions from the prior year..

Can anyone tell me should this be the case.. and if so is there any way of removing the previous year transactions from the nominals and corrections section.

    Kind Regards

Nope - all previous transactions remain - this is for audit reasons, and probably to allow SAGE to produce comparatives. Basically it's normal.
