I broke up with ex girlfriend of two years, almost two years ago. I got over her fairly quickly, she didn't. Have no interest in the girl anymore and definitely do not want anything to do with her.

Have been going out with a new girl the last few months but thoughts of my ex always come into my head and its driving me crazy, absolutely mad about this new girl but just want thoughts to stop coming into my head about ex. I even called my new girl by my ex's name one day.

anything i should do? thanks for help guys!

    Hey OP,

What kind of thoughts? Sexual, hatred, regret, love? Advice will depend on what the thoughts are really. I'm not sure what's confusing you, you say you want nothing to do with her? Is it just that she pops into your head every now and again? If it's just that I wouldn't worry. I mean my ex pops into my head occasionally but it's usually accompanied by a deep sense of relief that he's an ex and also great joy at what I have gained since I left him.

No definitely not sexual thoughts. I just get a picutre of her but yeah, have no interest in her, just want to stop her coming into my head

Are you glad you are broken up?

Thoughts lke this are kindof associated with still holding a torch for someone.. Not accusing you of anything. But you need to think about what's causing the thoughts? What kind are they?

I have exes that I never think of, or if something reminds me of them. I laugh and think how stupid I was to be with them...

I have one ex that comes into my mind regurlarly, and it makes me feel sad to know that I'm not with them anymore.

It might be just the fact that this new girl is so amazing that you’re thinking how much of a tit the old one was. Don’t stress about it and enjoy your new relationship :)

If the thoughts are meaningless, don't let them worry you. It's normal :-)

    Hey,

Ah you've nothing to worry about so. It's natural that she pops into your head occasionally, the reason it's happening I'd say is because you're worrying about it, which will make it happen more. You can't stop something popping into your head but worrying about it will gaurantee it does happen more often. Just turn it into a posative, everytime she pops into your head say to yourself "ah thank god I'm with (insert lovely new gf's name here)".

    Best of luck.
