Hi all getting married in October and we're looking at Orlando for a honeymoon, just looking for any suggestions on accomadation/what to see.

Money not really a factor within reason just wanna make the most of the place. I only wouldn't wanna go to OTT in terms of accomadation!

    Thanks in advance.

If you are not interested in the Theme Parks then the only thing Orlando has to offer is shopping at the outlets. However, you are only an hour from the Gulf Coast or Atlantic coast and both offer plenty of sun and sand. Also Port Canaveral is just an hour from Orlando and from there you can catch a cruise to the Carribean or Bahamas (even for four days) Always fantastic value and sometimes you can show up and catch a late deal but you may not want that for a honeymoon! There are a few sites that offer cheap cruises! You can get a four day Bahamas cruise for less that $300 pp - have seen them for $199

There are loads of threads on Boards about Orlando, I'd suggest you do a search and have a read through. The consensus is that International Drive is a good area for 1st timers to stay, there are lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance and it is quite close to Univeral and Seaworld theme parks. However you are a bit futher away from Disney but most of the good hotels offer free shuttles. I would actually recommend that you rent a car though, it's easy to drive around Orlando and it leaves you with lots of options such as going to the beach for the day. The good news about acommodation is that it's very reasonable, so you should get a really nice hotel room for less than $150 per night (they go as cheap as $30 per night so might be best to give your budget so we can give you a better idea).

As for things to do, well, in DIsney alone, there are 4 theme parks, 2 waterparks two night-time entertainment/shopping complexes and countless golf courses. Then you have Universal which has two theme parks and an entertainment area, Seaworld which has one theme park and a water park, plus things like Wet and Wild, Ripleys Believe it or Not, Kennedy Space Centre, Air Boat rides, Busch Gardens, Gatorland and shopping outlets all within the Orlando area (Kennedy is about 45mins away) so you could theoretically go there for 3 months and not see everything! Best if you could describe your interests and we can advise on what might appeal to you. Or do try and go through the old posts, there is a lot of info there.

By the way, Oct is perfect time to go, not too hot, not too busy and the parks will decorated for Halloween :D
