Hi there. I got a new sniper style grip for my sr25 yesterday, and fitted it last nite. After a bit of fighting with wires the old one was off, the new one was on and the motor was back in. Problem I'm havin is the gun makes a funny noise when it shoots. I took it all apart in case I hadn't put it in properly, and put the motor back in, but same deal. At the bottom of the pistol grip there's a screw and I gave that a few turns and it def sounds better now, but as Its only guess work I'd like some advice before or in case I break sumtin.

    Cheers

    can you describe the sound?

Anyway that screw on the bottom is the motor adjustment screw, it allows you to set the height of your motor :) The funny noise was probably just the motor not set properly ;)

It sounded like it wasn't connected to the gearbox properly, almost as if it was spinning freely, but making some contact. I was suprised by this as I used the same motor end plate from the original grip, so didn't think I'd have to adjust anything. I'm just more worried that if it's not set perfectly my gearbox may eat itself. I've changed grips on aegs before and never experienced this, it was always a straight swap. It's a g&p branded grip so wouldn't be a cheap knock off or anything. I would like to know if it's possible to set it too high/too low, as I've never had to do this before.

The thing that I heard to do was, when you are looking for the ideal height, just trial and error. Keep turning the screw a half turn each time until it connects, and then a whole turn for good measure, and your good to go.
